The 2020 Election

 The 2020 Election has been one for the history books. With the coronavirus being a new threat to society, the election this year had to be conducted differently. We have seen the negative affects of this, including potential election fraud, delayed election results, and bending the law. The country seems to be on edge as we await to see if President-elect Joe Biden will in fact become the president, or if Trump will find a way to stay in office. 

Pennsylvania was being contested over who won the state and what ballots should be casted because the state of Pennsylvania unlawfully counted votes. However, this period for counting ballots has been extended by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. This has never been done before and is unprecedented. 

Lawsuits have been dropped in Arizona because the votes in consideration would not change the outcome of that state. That makes me wonder: is there really voter fraud, or can Trump not believe he lost? I do believe that it is very plausible for Trump to investigate the election due to the coronavirus and what it has done to make the election process for this year different. I do find it weird, however, that he cannot believe Biden could beat him. Yes, I agree with Trump that someone with the brain gaffes of Biden should not have won a presidency, but you could argue that in 2016 that someone with the loud, blunt mouth of President Trump should have also not won the election.

All in all, this has been one of the weirdest elections ever. The coronavirus, the candidates, the election being the first time I can vote. I will never forget this crazy election. All I hope is that all turns out positively for our nation.

Today we are gathered to determine whether or not the fine of $5 for shooting a slave is just or unjust. The fact that we are even gathered here today to discuss this is outrageous. You, John Mann, are seriously going to stand there and complain about a $5 fine for shooting someone? What about the girl you shot? Do you even care that you shot her? That she could have died? Her name is Lydia. Lydia is a slave, but she is still a human being. She breathes like us, talks like us, walks like us, yet we still sit here and debate that she should be considered property? You should be ashamed of yourself, Mr. Mann, for not even thinking about Lydia’s well being. Lydia ran away because you were beating her. Then you shot her for running from you. The March

The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom was an event that I had personally never really learned a lot about before this class and video. This video showed how much work went into pulling off this march, and how the word was spread about The March. The first thing I learned is that there was another Martin Luther King Jr., however this person fought to keep segregation alive. Bull Connor was an extremely racist individual, who happened to be the police chief of Birmingham, Alabama, or "Bombingham" as it was nicknamed.  An image of Bull Connor I say that Bull Connor was the MLK of segregation because he gave speeches, was very outspoken, and adamant about keeping segregation. He was the spearhead for the continual practice of segregation.  Almost comically, Bull Connor jailed MLK in April of 1963.
